Dr. Stanley Beberman went to New Orleans to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. He worked with local health officials in a medical clinic that was set up at the zoo. They saw about 1000 patients who although may have had medical insurance, did not have access to normal care.

The DGF is proud that 93% of donations goes directly to those in need. Through the dedication of the many volunteers and support people who give of their time we are able to minimize costs. Travel expenses to and from missions are paid by those attending the mission.
December - Mission to Pakistan
Physicians and representatives from the Doctors' Goodwill Foundation helped to raise $65,000 for earthquake victims in Kashmir. The delegation visited Muzzafarabad, the epicenter of the earthquake and Islamabad where most of the emergency help was set up along with a 10,000 tent city.

On September 16, the Doctors' Goodwill Foundation hosted a benefit to raise money for the American Red Cross Katrina Disaster. Physicians, hospitals, businesses and private donors came together and raised more than $220,000 for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated the Gulf Coast and displaced thousands of people.
More than 450 people attended the benefit and enjoyed an International Food Festival at the Clarion Hotel on Merritt Island. All the food was donated by local restaurants, or prepared by individuals, businesses and physicians. Guests enjoyed cuisine from the Philippines, the Middle East (including sweets from India), Latin America, delicacies from Pascals., Rounding out the evening was homemade Louisiana jambalaya, plus gumbo prepared by husband and wife doctors Ed Swan and Nettie Dunn from Titusville. Music for dancing was provided by the Rich Hall Trio Jazz Band and WFIT Radio Station.

Under the leadership of Gastroenterologist William Rylander, M.D., spent time in Costa Rica providing medical care and attending to various health needs.
The three medical missions were able to provide health care to more than 1,800 patients and also distributed clothing, toys and medical supplies totaling more than $100,000.
June
James Glenn, M.D., orthopedic surgeon, led a group to help people in Arusha, Tanzania.
A medical mission to the Amazon led by Dr. Bhalani helped people in a remote area of Brazil. The participants traveled by a boat equipped with dental and medical exam rooms and a pharmacy to reach the first village on the bank of the Amazon River. Because the villagers have no access to healthcare, the medical group saw 480 patients during a five-village tour.
February 2005
The Doctors' Goodwill Foundation joined with the Titusville Rotary to help the people of the Tsunami. The team of doctors and others visited Malaysia on February 15 for ten days. They worked with local communities to provide much needed medical care as well as provide medicines and supplies.
May 14, 2005 - Expo
Over 200 doctors, nurses and pharmacists were able to attend classes for their continuing education in a relaxed atmosphere with lunch and entertainment provided by our sponsors. In addition over 70 sponsors were available to provide valuable information about their service or product.
